Doughnuts
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- Optional toppings: powdered sugar, chocolate glaze, sprinkles, etc.
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to a 1/4 inch thickness.
- Using a doughnut cutter or two different-sized circular cookie cutters, cut out doughnuts and holes.
- Heat oil in a deep pot or deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Carefully place doughnuts into the hot oil, frying for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Optional: Dip doughnuts in powdered sugar, chocolate glaze, or toppings of your choice.
- Serve and enjoy your homemade doughnuts!
