Donut Holes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- 1/4 cup sugar for coating
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon for coating
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Heat oil in a deep pot over medium heat.
- Roll the dough into small balls using your hands or a cookie scoop.
- Carefully drop the dough balls into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the donut holes from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for coating.
- Roll the fried donut holes in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Serve warm and enjoy your homemade donut holes!
