  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onions and garlic and cook until translucent.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the onion mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Add the chicken or vegetable broth, pickles, pickle juice, and Worcestershire sauce to the pot, stirring well.
  5. Add the diced potatoes, carrots, and celery to the pot and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and continue to simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve garnished with fresh dill if desired.
