Dill Pickle

  1. Wash and dry 4-5 pickling cucumbers.
  2. Using a sharp knife, slice the cucumbers into spears or rounds and place them in a clean jar.
  3. Add 2 cloves of thinly sliced garlic and 4 sprigs of fresh dill to the jar.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of white vinegar, 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of kosher salt, and 2 tablespoons of pickling spice. Bring to a boil, stirring until the salt dissolves.
  5. Pour the hot liquid over the cucumbers, covering them completely.
  6. Let the jar cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
