Devil's Food Cake

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract together until well combined.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Gradually pour in the hot coffee, stirring until well combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing them and allowing them to cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Once cooled, assemble the cake by placing one layer on a cake plate and spreading your choice of frosting on top. Place the second layer on top and frost the entire cake. Serve and enjoy your delicious Devil's Food Cake!
