Creamed Corn
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and stir until well combined to make a roux.
- Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth.
- Add the corn kernels and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Allow the creamed corn to cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is tender and the flavors are well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot as a side dish or use as a topping for dishes like mashed potatoes or meatloaf.
