Cornbread
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, oil, and egg.
- Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cut into squares and serve warm with butter.
