Clam Bake

  1. Start by preparing your fire or grill. You will want medium-high heat for this recipe.
  2. Clean and scrub the clams, discarding any that are cracked or opened.
  3. In a large pot, bring 4-6 cups of water to a boil and add in the quartered potatoes. Boil for about 10 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Next, add in the corn and sausage to the pot and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Drain the pot and dump the contents onto a large sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Spread them out evenly.
  6. Layer on the sliced onion, minced garlic, and lemon slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and Old Bay seasoning. Drizzle this mixture over the top of the contents on the foil.
  8. Wrap the foil tightly around the ingredients, making a sealed packet.
  9. Place the foil packet onto the grill or fire, and cook for about 15 minutes, until the clams have opened and the corn is tender.
  10. Carefully open the foil packet and serve the delicious clam bake with melted butter and lemon
