Cinnamon Rolls

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, salt, and cubed butter. Using a pastry cutter or your hands, work the butter into the flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat milk until warm. Remove from heat and add yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and egg to the milk mixture and whisk until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until dough comes together. If dough is too sticky, add remaining ¼ cup of flour. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon and brown sugar. Set aside.
  8. On a floured surface, roll out dough into a 16x12 inch rectangle. Brush melted butter over dough, leaving a 1 inch border on one of the longer sides. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture evenly
