Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie. Press a few extra chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies, if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
