Chicken Tandoori
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt to taste
- Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
- Mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, cayenne pepper, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- When ready to cook, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the marinated chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly crispy on the outside.
- Optional step: For a more authentic tandoori flavor, you can grill the chicken instead of baking it. Preheat a grill to medium-high heat and grill the chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
