Chicken Marsala
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 6 oz sliced mushrooms
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken breasts to the flour mixture, making sure they are evenly coated.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the coated chicken breasts to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, until browned and fully cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add mushrooms and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until mushrooms are tender.
- Pour Marsala wine and chicken broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, until sauce is slightly reduced.
- Stir in heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet, covering it with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
