Chicken Jalfrezi
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup water
- Chopped cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- Add chicken cubes and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Add garlic and ginger paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and release their juices.
- Add chopped red and green bell peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in 1 cup of water and bring it to a simmer. Cover the pan and let it cook for another 5 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
