Chicken Curry
Ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 cup water
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add the chopped onions and cook until they are soft and golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pan and stir to combine with the onion-tomato mixture.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in 1 cup of water and mix well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let the chicken simmer for 15-20 minutes or until it is cooked
