Chicken Biryani
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 1 kg of chicken, cut into small pieces
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste
- 1 cup of yogurt
- 1/4 cup of chopped coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup of chopped mint leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups of water
Instructions:
- Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the chicken pieces with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it marinate for 20 minutes.
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and coriander seeds and sauté until fragrant.
- Add sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add marinated chicken pieces and cook until they are fully cooked.
- Add garam masala powder and mix well.
- In a separate pan, boil 2 cups of water.
- Add soaked rice, chopped coriander leaves, and mint leaves to the pot with chicken. Mix well.
