Caramel Corn
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
- Pop the popcorn according to package instructions and set aside in a large mixing bowl.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the brown sugar, corn syrup and salt to the melted butter, stirring continuously until the mixture boils.
- Let the mixture boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove the pan from heat and add in the baking soda, stirring until well combined.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn in the mixing bowl, stirring gently to coat all of the popcorn.
- Spread the caramel coated popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool before breaking apart and serving.
