California Roll
Ingredients:
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 4 sheets of nori seaweed
- 8 ounces imitation crab
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Cucumber, sliced thinly
- Seasame seeds, for topping
- Japanese mayonnaise
- Rice vinegar
- Soy sauce
Instructions:
- Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions. Once done, mix in 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar and let cool.
- Place a sheet of nori seaweed on a sushi mat (or a clean towel).
- Spread 1/2 cup of sushi rice evenly on the nori, leaving about 1 inch of space at one end.
- Add a layer of thinly sliced cucumber and avocado along the edge of the rice closest to you.
- Add 2 ounces of imitation crab on top of the veggies.
- Roll the sushi tightly using the sushi mat, using the empty space at the end to seal the roll.
- Once rolled, use a knife to slice the roll into 8 pieces.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 3 more rolls.
- Serve the California rolls with a drizzle of Japanese mayonnaise and a side of soy sauce for dipping.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for an extra crunch and enjoy!
