Breadsticks

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and basil. Stir to blend.
  2. In a separate small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir yeast mixture into flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix well until a ball of dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  7. Punch dough down and roll out into a rectangle that is about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Cut dough into 1 inch wide strips and twist each strip into a breadstick shape.
  9. Place breadsticks on a greased baking sheet and let rise for an additional 10 minutes.
  10. Brush breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.
