Breadsticks
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 2/3 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and basil. Stir to blend.
- In a separate small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Stir yeast mixture into flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix well until a ball of dough forms.
- Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Punch dough down and roll out into a rectangle that is about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut dough into 1 inch wide strips and twist each strip into a breadstick shape.
- Place breadsticks on a greased baking sheet and let rise for an additional 10 minutes.
- Brush breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.
- Bake for
