Bread Pudding
Ingredients:
- 6 cups of day-old bread, cubed
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of butter, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes, or until the bread is fully soaked.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, melted butter, beaten eggs, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract. Add in the soaked bread and mix until well combined. If desired, add in raisins at this time.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Let the bread pudding cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, or store in the refrigerator for later.
