Blackened Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create the blackening seasoning.
- Preheat a cast iron skillet over high heat on the stovetop.
- Brush chicken breasts with melted butter on both sides.
- Sprinkle the blackening seasoning on both sides of the chicken breasts, using your fingers to rub it in and ensure even coating.
- Once the skillet is hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the seasoning has created a blackened crust.
- Remove chicken from skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
