Banana Bread
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the melted butter and brown sugar.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the mashed bananas to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
- If using walnuts, fold them into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely.
