Baked Macaroni and Cheese

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the flour and stir until well combined.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Pour the macaroni and cheese into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
