Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the flour and stir until well combined.
- Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the macaroni and cheese into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
