Apple Pie

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Add in cold diced butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add in ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together and forms a ball.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal parts, flattening them into discs. Wrap each disc in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  5. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch until well combined.
  6. Roll out one disc of dough on a floured surface until it's about 12 inches in diameter. Place it into the prepared pie dish and trim the edges.
  7. Pour the apple filling into the pie crust, spreading it evenly. Drizzle melted butter on top of the filling.
